No. It has its own motor and onboard filter canister and works completely independently of your filtration system. That means it does not load your skimmer basket, pump or filter with debris, and you can run it whenever you like rather than around your pump schedule.

Continuous power means unlimited run time and no battery to degrade or replace over the years. For pool owners who want a cleaner that simply works for a long time without a consumable battery in the equation, corded remains the pragmatic choice. The trade off is the cable.

Lay the cable out and let it relax in the sun before starting a cycle, feed it in without twists, and coil it consistently after each run. Most tangling complaints trace back to a cable that was coiled tightly and dropped straight into the water. Ten seconds of setup prevents it.

Leaves, grit, sand and general debris into the onboard filter canister, which you empty after each run. On Auckland properties with heavy autumn leaf fall, expect to empty it more often through March to May, and consider clearing the worst of the surface leaves with a net first.
