A corded cleaner like the DX3000 (WR000481) draws continuous power through its cable, so it never runs out of charge mid-cycle and there is no battery to replace over time. A cordless unit is more convenient to drop in and lift out but has a finite run time per charge. Both clean well. It comes down to whether you value unlimited run time or no cable.

No. The DX3000 runs completely independently of your filtration system, with its own motor and onboard filter canister. Debris is captured in the unit rather than passing through your skimmer, pump and filter, which reduces backwashing and extends filter media life.

It is the entry point in the DuoX range and suits standard residential pools. Cable length determines the maximum reach, and detailed cable length specifications are available on request. On a larger pool, the DX4000 or EX6050 iQ give better coverage. Send us your pool dimensions and we will confirm.

Some cable management is part of owning a corded cleaner, and the way you lay the cable out at the start of a cycle makes a real difference. Letting the cable relax in the sun before use, and feeding it in without twists, prevents most tangling. If you want none of this, the cordless FreeRider range is the alternative.

In the onboard filter canister, which you empty after each cycle. The advantage over a suction cleaner is that leaves and grit never reach your pump basket or filter, so your filtration system does less work and needs less frequent backwashing.

It uses its own small motor rather than relying on your pump running at high speed, which on a variable speed pump setup can actually reduce total power use. It also keeps debris out of your filter, which saves water and chemicals on backwashing. Over a season the difference is worth having.

Empty and rinse the filter canister after every run, rinse the unit occasionally with fresh water to clear salt residue, inspect brushes and tracks for wear, and store it out of direct sunlight. Leaving a corded cleaner baking on hot paving degrades the cable and seals faster than anything else.
