The P320 XT draws 1,250W and delivers 303 litres per minute at 8 m head, with a 6.0 star MEPS rating and 514 kWh annual consumption. The P520 XT draws 1,800W, delivers 580 litres per minute, rates 4.5 stars and uses 734 kWh a year. The P320 suits most standard residential pools, while the P520 suits larger pools or systems with significant head pressure.

MEPS is the minimum energy performance standard used across Australasia, and the star rating lets you compare pumps on a like for like basis. At 6.0 stars, the P320 XT sits at the top end of the scale. Its 514 kWh annual consumption is roughly half that of many conventional single speed pumps, which at Auckland power rates translates directly into a lower bill each month.

A fully variable pump can sit at whatever speed your pool actually needs rather than jumping between fixed presets. Run at 600 to 1,200 RPM for quiet everyday filtration, lift to mid range for chlorinator and heater flow, and use full speed only for vacuuming or backwashing. Three programmed presets make day to day operation simple once we have set them up.

Fast Prime runs the pump at high speed briefly on startup to clear air from the lines and establish flow, which protects the pump and saves you priming manually. Overdrive gives you a short burst of maximum output on demand, useful for vacuuming, backwashing or clearing a heavy debris load after a storm.

The Viron XT includes Bluetooth connectivity for control from your device when you are near the pool. If you want full remote control from anywhere, the Viron XT also pairs with the AstralPool Halo Chlor system, which adds Wi-Fi and app control across your pump, chlorinator and lighting. Climate Care Certified is a SPASA scheme that recognises pool equipment meeting defined energy and water efficiency standards. It is an independent marker rather than a manufacturer claim, which is useful when comparing pumps that all advertise efficiency. The Viron XT carries the certification.

Usually yes, but there is a detail that matters. Chlorinators and heaters need a minimum flow rate to operate and to avoid nuisance fault codes. Running a variable speed pump too slowly can trip them. We set the presets so your low speed still satisfies every piece of equipment on your system, which is a common thing to get wrong on a self install.
