St Heliers has two quite different pool environments and they need different attention. The flat streets behind the beach are sheltered, warm and easy to work on, with pools that generally sit in open, sunny back sections. The elevated streets up towards Achilles Point are exposed, often steeply terraced, and considerably windier, with pools built into platforms and plant frequently sitting at a different level to the water.
