Rothesay Bay is compact and steep, and almost every property has a level change worked into it somewhere. Pools sit on cut and fill platforms, and the retaining that holds them is now decades old on the older properties. Movement in that retaining shows up first as cracked or lifting coping, which is often mistaken for a failed interior when it is actually ground movement.
Establishing which one you have matters, because resurfacing a pool sitting on retaining that is still moving means doing the job twice. We would rather look at it properly than guess.
The rebuild rate here is high. A lot of original homes are being replaced with larger houses, and pools are increasingly renovated or reconfigured as part of that. Bringing the pool into the main build programme is almost always cheaper than doing it afterwards, purely because of access.
