Bush Edge, Rural Water and Big Pools

Hunua properties combine two of the harder conditions for a pool: rural water supply and bush edge debris. Tank water arrives soft and slightly acidic, which will gradually pull calcium out of a plaster interior. Bore water arrives hard and frequently carries iron, which stains on contact with chlorine. Both are easy to manage once tested and very difficult to undo once ignored.

The Ranges bring the second issue. Properties near the bush line get continuous fine organic debris rather than a defined autumn drop, along with pollen loads in spring that can turn a pool cloudy in a matter of days. This is a filtration problem more than a chemical one. Owners often add more chlorine when what the pool actually needs is longer run times and a filter that is not already loaded.
